About Jennifer

Hi. I’m Jennifer. I’d love to meet you!

My therapeutic approach is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and understanding. I believe that feeling truly seen and understood can be powerful—especially for adults with ADHD who may have spent years feeling like they should think, feel, or function differently.

But before we get into my credentials, here’s a little about me as a human:

Outside of the therapy room, you may find me jamming out at a concert, taking a walk, or drinking matcha. My children are usually coercing me into pretend games involving zombies, prison, or magic morphing animals. So, you know…relaxing stuff.

I love traveling and immersing myself in new cultures and architecture. Some of my favorite things are laughing with friends, a great movie, book, or meal, my cat purring on my lap, creating something new, and walking into a really well-designed space.

And when I have some extra brainpower? I’m probably listening to a podcast about human consciousness or wellness—or going down a rabbit hole about human design and the Gene Keys. IYKYK.

WHY I LOVE WORKING WITH ADHD

Before entering a master’s program for therapy, I spent more than a decade working in commercial development and construction alongside entrepreneurs and creative professionals—including architects, engineers, interior designers, tradespeople, and city planners.

When I decided to change careers, one of my biggest fears was missing being surrounded by quick, quirky minds. I loved solving problems together. Throwing ideas around. Looking at something from a completely different angle. And figuring out a way forward when there wasn’t an obvious answer.

Then I started working with people with ADHD.

I found the same creativity, humor, curiosity, and unconventional thinking that I was afraid I would leave behind. That’s a big part of why I love this work!

Many adults with ADHD have spent years criticizing the very parts of themselves that make them different. Therapy gives us a place to get curious about those parts instead. We can understand how your brain works, identify what keeps getting in your way, and find approaches that actually make sense for you.

WHAT MAKES ME CREDIBLE

  • My therapeutic approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and informed by existential-humanistic and somatic therapies. Depending on your needs, I also draw from CBT, ACT, REBT, parts work, and mindfulness-based interventions.
  • Before entering the mental health field, I earned my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University, with an emphasis in construction.
  • Throughout my career, I have worked with thousands of people. I spent years helping people navigate difficult projects, schedules, deadlines, goals, and manage big emotions. I bring that real-world experience into my work with clients today.
  • I am currently earning my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capital University and am a Licensed Counselor Trainee in the State of Ohio (C.2607768-TRNE), supervised by Gina McDowell, LPCC-S (License #E.1600076).
  • I’m also a mom. Some of my most valuable lessons in patience, flexibility, emotional regulation, and letting go of perfection have come from raising my kids.
  • I’m passionate about helping people regulate their nervous systems, build trust in themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create lives that feel more aligned with who they actually are.
