About Suzanne

Hi, I’m Suzanne. It’s a pleasure to meet you.

Before we get into my professional background, here’s the part where you can confirm I’m a real person you can connect with: I’m a wife, dog mom of three, the “fun aunt,” and a jack of all trades. I was born with the “I could probably figure it out” gene. This applies to anything from fixing the washing machine to trying to replicate a makeup trend I saw on Pinterest. I’m a huge animal lover, which explains how I ended up with three dogs even though I said two was enough. Every evening you can find me either crocheting a blanket, working on another paint-by-numbers kit, or doing a puzzle while listening to a true crime podcast or stand-up comedy. I’m happiest when my hands are busy with crafts or the garden. If you have any tips to keep the dogs from stealing my tomatoes off the vine, please share!

WHAT MAKES ME LOVE WORKING WITH ADHD

I love working with ADHD folks because it’s a topic close to my life. What I’ve known for a long time is that the ADHD community is full of highly intelligent, talented, and passionate people, who often feel like they are struggling in a world not built for them. Despite struggling, I know firsthand how ADHD can be harnessed into achieving amazing accomplishments. I look at navigating ADHD in a non-ADHD world a bit like white-water rafting: While it can be challenging to go down a raging river on your own, having the right support can be the game-changer that can help you become an expert on the water.

I am currently a graduate student in the Master of Social Work program at The Ohio State University and am a licensed as a Social Work Trainee. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a corporate healthcare IT company (if you struggle to sit still or focus during lackluster Zoom meetings in a corporate setting, I get it). After seeing clients, colleagues, and peers struggle with work/life balance, imposter syndrome, and finding their own purpose, I knew it was time for a change. I’ve always loved connecting with people, and I seek to help ADHDers break down these types of obstacles to not only meet their potential but to start living the life they want.
