About Alison

Welcome! I’m Alison. I’m glad you’re taking the first step.

I help ADHD adults tap into their unique superpowers to start meeting their truest potential.

I believe a therapist is both a teacher and a student. The key to effective ADHD treatment is for us both to learn the unique ways ADHD impacts you.

However, I know finding a specialist who you connect with and who actually understands ADHD is not easy. So before I list all my credentials, here’s a little bit about who I am so you can decide if we’ll work well together.

In my down time, when I’m not busy planning my wedding, you’ll usually find me curled up with a good book…or watching reality TV. I know everything you never needed to know about our favorite celebrities and popular fandoms (like Harry Potter, Marvel, GOT, etc.). I also love getting active by running, walking my dogs, or doing yoga. At heart, I’m someone who loves to learn, whether it be about mindfulness techniques, neurobiology, or Regency Era England (thanks to a certain Netflix show).

Why I’m Passionate about working with ADHD

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been interested in people––the things that we all have in common combined with our amazing individuality. This led me to studying sociology and anthropology at Denison University and then getting my master’s degree in social work at The Ohio State University. There, my passion shifted from learning about people to learning how to empower them.

I know what it’s like to feel as if your brain is swirling with a million thoughts and unable to shut off. I also know how it feels to have high standards and goals for yourself, but to feel like you’re stuck figuring out the first step. I’ve also learned all the helpful “life hacks” to set myself up for success, despite all my human flaws (hello, procrastination!). In our work together, we will help you learn to harness the power of your ADHD brain to become your greatest asset.
